Once you begin to change your mindset on what breakfast foods are, a whole new world of possibilities will open up.  Normally we think of things like pastries, cereal, oatmeal, or omelets (while a veggie omelet is a great option).  Instead start to think of breakfast as “Meal #1.”  That way it doesn’t have to be breakfast foods and it can just be left-over “Meal #3” (dinner).  It may sound odd to have chicken and broccoli for breakfast, but this actually gives you the nutrition that you need, more so than any cereal or pastry.

Below are some additional and delicious Meal #1 or breakfast options:

1. Pastured pork with sauteed kale and onion

2. Take your favorite non breakfast meal and add spices like rosemary, thyme, sage, and fennel to create more of a breakfast flavor

3. Organic ground turkey with caramelized onions and peppers
